Brought to the West Side by popular acclaim, Christine Lirik, Director of Education for Freedom of Choice in Ohio (EFCO) will debate Mary Griesinger, Coordinator of the Cleveland Abortion Rights Action League (CARAL) on the meaning and effects of H.B. 879, the proposed "informed consent" bill now before the Ohio General Assembly.
The meeting is open to CARAL members and non-members at no charge. It will take place on Thursday, January 17, at 8:00 p.m. at the West Shore Unitarian Church, 20401 Hilliard Boulevard. Literature and refreshments will be available. During the meeting CARAL leaders will discuss the recent events in the Ohio Legislature and the U.S. Congress concerning the right to choose an abortion.

A Cleveland Women's Writers Guild is being formed which will benefit all women writers by providing feedback on your writing, public reading opportunities, encouragement, publication information, writing oppor. tunities and membership in The Feminist Writers Guild, Berkeley, California. A writers guild for women only will help us defend ourselves against the sexism of publishers and the media. It will be a flexible organization for women of various perspectives. Harriet F. Pi'oel, author, women's rights activist and attorney, will be the keynote speaker at the third annual fundraising dinner of the Reproductive Freedom Coalition on Friday, January 18, at the Park Plaza Hotel Ms Pilpel, a leader in the area of women's rights with a special interest in reproductive freedom issues, has written extensively on women and employment, the media, family law and civil liberties. She is presently a member of the Board of National Abortion Rights Action League and the Population Institute, and is General Counsel to Planned Parenthood of America. This event commemorates the 7th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision of January 22, 1973 legalizing abortion throughout the United States. Tickets for the dinner are $50, $25 and $17 50. The University of Akron will present a workshop on Perspectives on Sex Roles and Identities beginning January 23, 1980 for 15 weeks The workshop will meet on Wednesday nights from 8:00 to 9.50 p.m. at the University of Akron, Dlin 124. Topics will include Myths of Co-Education: Gender and Identity in Education, Women and Work in American Culture, Politics of Sexual Discrimination, Human Rights and Group Rights, Psychological Differences Between the Sexes, Economics of Sexual Roles, Women Herdes. Women Writers, Biological Perspective, and The Making of the Patriar chy: The Social and Political History of Sexism in the U.S.
